This course looks at the rich history of linocut printmaking, providing you with the knowledge and skills to create your own stunning artwork. Throughout the day, you will explore the intricacies of this art form, from understanding the tools and inks to mastering the reduction process and printing onto various surfaces using a traditional print press.

not provided. There is a cafe on site, and The Drum pub is within a short walk from the studio, or feel free to bring a packed lunch.

Pointillism in Acrylics

Pointillism is defined by its use of mark making and colour. Pointillism paintings are created from hundreds of dots of carefully placed pure colours, relying on the eye to mix the colours to achieve maximum luminosity, in a similar way to pixels on a screen.
Learn how to use reds, blues and yellows to create the whole spectrum of colours. In this workshop we will look at basic colour theory, pigment strength and colour mixing before going on to create a colourful acrylic painting to take away with you.
